Our approach to learning and development is woven into the heart of our organisational culture. Using indigenous kaupapa Māori approaches to developmental evaluation we not only prioritise learning in our individual projects, we also create dedicated time to learn together as a whole organisation. Sharing insights across the projects and teams helps us to collectively draw together both practice based and empirical evidence into knowledge and wisdom that strengthen all of our mahi.
Using our bespoke evaluation methodology we capture real-time learning as projects unfold, we integrate participant feedback into our designs, and all of this supports our prototyping as it develops. This means participants see how their feedback is actively informing our process, and we get to see first-hand how this learning process positively impacts their overall experience.
We believe this reflective, participant centred approach to the way we work as an organisation has created a distinctive and unique style when working with external partners. Using our facilitation tools and reflective practices we help groups move through generative thinking processes where new ideas and ways of working can emerge. Our approach to evaluation isn’t just an internal practice for us – it’s how we continuously improve our projects and support our funders and partners to experience these transformative and meaningful approaches too.
